Problems with Windows 11 on Certain Samsung Laptops

Microsoft and Samsung have identified a bug causing C:\ drive access issues and application failures on some Samsung Galaxy Book devices running Windows 11 (24H2 / 25H2).

The root cause?
⚠️ The Samsung Galaxy Connect / Continuity Service app, used for screen mirroring and device integration.

Affected users reported:
• Problems accessing files on the C:\ drive
• Apps failing to launch
• Permission and admin privilege errors
• Difficulty uninstalling updates or collecting logs

Microsoft temporarily removed the app from the Microsoft Store, and Samsung has now released an updated version.

To fix affected systems, Microsoft published a 29-step recovery procedure that restores default Windows permissions and drive ownership.

🔐 Key takeaway: even legitimate system integration tools can accidentally break core OS permissions and security controls.

Always keep device utilities up to date and monitored, especially when they modify system-level permissions.
